Simon Cowell appeared on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show and commented on his recent rumored romance.
Cowell, 53, has been rumored to be romantically linked to personality Carmen Electra, 40, in recent months. On December 19, Cowell spoke out on Seacrest's morning radio show and set the record straight (Listen below).
"It's funny because I had your girlfriend on the show the other day and she's very charming," Seacrest told Cowell, to which he responded, "Which one?"
When Seacrest identified Electra, Cowell said that they had been on some dates, but laughed at the mention of the word "girlfriend," adding: "She's adorable, isn't she?"
The "Baywatch" actress, who recently debuted a new song after her 20-year music hiatus, was first photographed leaving a dinner date with Cowell in September after appearing on his overseas talent show "Britain's Got Talent" in February.
The pair playfully flirted on screen during episodes of the talent series, according to ABC News, prompting fellow judge David Walliams to comment to Electra, "Stop looking at him, look at the act on stage."
In October, unconfirmed reports said that the actress had split from her fiance Rob Patterson. Electra was married to Rodman, her first husband, for several months, starting in November 2008. Her 2003 marriage to Navarro lasted almost three years.
In January, the British mogul opened up about his "complicated" relationship with makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy, who at the time was rumored to be his fiance.
"It is quite a complicated relationship," Cowell told UK newspaper The Daily Mail. "We have had a break from each other, and we are still incredibly close. I'm vulnerable. It's not on, it's not off, it's somewhere in the middle. I don't know if I will ever get married, but I am happy."
Cowell has never been married but did live with his ex-girlfriend, television host Terri Seymour. The two dated for six years and broke up in 2008. He told Stern on his show that he also once went on a "bizarre" blind date with Denise Richards, actor Charlie Sheen's ex-wife.
The television personality launched "The X Factor," which is based on his British series, on FOX following his exit from "American Idol." He serves as a judge alongside record executive L.A. Reid and season 2 newcomers Britney Spears and fellow pop star Demi Lovato. Each judge is responsible for a "team," grouped mainly by age, and they act as mentors to their respective contestants.
On October 22, it was announced that the hit singing competition was renewed for a third season by Fox. On December 14, judge L.A. Reid told NBC's "Access Hollywood" that he would not be returning for the new season.
The season finale of the competition airs on Thursday, December 20 at 8/7 CT on Fox.
