Jenny McCarthy poses in a bikini and shows off her abs in a recent photo shoot for SHAPE magazine, which features her on the cover of the January / February 2013 issue.
This marks the second time the TV host, who turned 40 in November, graces the cover of the health and fitness publication since May 2009. McCarthy, a single mother of a 10-year-old son, has also posed for Playboy six times.
"If they ask me to be on the cover, that means I'm doing something right," she jokes about her latest SHAPE cover in a video interview posted on the outlet's website, which also shows outtakes from her shoot, during which she poses in two bikinis and a dress and shows off some exercise moves.
She also detailed some of her diet and fitness habits. McCarthy said she works out five days and week and that her "go-to" 10-minute workout consists of "lunges, sit-ups and push-ups" as well as "planking." Her favorite healthy snack is watermelon.
McCarthey says her favorite food "splurge" is a chocolate milkshake, one of the most popular and fattening American beverages. A 16-ounce chocolate shake at McDonalds contains 710 calories. Burger King's 16-ounce chocolate shake contains 760 calories. Baskin Robbins' equivalent contains 650 calories.
"Don't buy me diamonds -- get me a chocolate milkshake," she says in the video. "I think it was comfort food because when I was sick, my mom would always get it for us, so it's my go-to happy juice."
McCarthy rose to fame as a co-host of the MTV 1990s series "Singled Out" and later headed her own sketch comedy series. She is currently promoting her new VH1 talk series, "The Jenny McCarthy Show," which premieres on February 8 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
"It's late night so I get to be a little bit more raw, I guess, is the word I'm looking for," McCarthy told SHAPE.
The show is described as a "360 pop culture experience that will feature appearances by a slew of Jenny's favorite celebs, her loyal shanks ? AKA her girlfriends -- and some dreamy bartenders."
"During every party, Jenny will break down the pop culture stories of the week with her handpicked entourage of VIPs while the party's weekly DJ keeps the crowd on their feet for every moment in-between," VH1 said in a statement.
"Nothing is off limits at Jenny's party," the statement added. "That means whether it's at the bar, the bedroom, or in the bathtub, everyone's in on the action -- even her production crew. From pop culture games to dissecting the most sizzling celebrity headlines, the whole room is involved and absolutely nothing is held back."
McCarthy is also returning to co-host "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2013," with Ryan Seacrest himself, live from Times Square in New York.
Bands and singers set to perform in New York during this year's special include YouTube star PSY, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and Neon Trees.
Fergie will host from the West Coast, where Justin Bieber, Jason Aldean, YouTube sensation Greyson Chance, Ellie Goulding, boy band The Wanted, Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, OneRepublic and Pitbull will perform. The event airs on ABC on December 31 at 10 p.m. ET. At 8 a.m., ABC will air a special honoring Dick Clark, who died in April at age 82.
This is the third time McCarthy has appeared on the New Year's Eve special. At last year's event, McCarthy kissed a New York City police officer to ring in 2012. She told co-host Ryan Seacrest on the air: "I just happened to be standing near that hot cop." The man, who was not identified, said he rated her kiss a 10.
McCarthy is currently believed to be single. She and NFL player Brian Urlacher broke up earlier his summer after dating for several months. McCarthy told SHAPE that actor Bradley Cooper was her top choice for a possible guest on her new show, adding: "I think he's hot and nice and maybe single after he does the interview."
