Sam Champion, the weather anchor for "Good Morning America," has married his boyfriend Rubem Robierb and his colleague, Robin Roberts, was among the guests at the small ceremony.

The two exchanged vows at Champion's apartment in Manhattan on Friday, December 21. In addition to Roberts, who underwent a bone marrow transplant in October and is currently on medical leave from the show, the guests included "GMA" correspondents Lara Spencer and Josh Elliott, as seen in a photo released by ABC (pictured above), as well as several members of the couple's friends and family. Robierb's mother and sisters watched via Skype from Brazil, ABC News reported.

"Now we a officially married ! (sic)" Robierb, a 35-year-old photographer, Tweeted, along with a photo of the pair's hands sporting matching dual yellow gold wedding rings.

New York State Supreme Court Justice George J. Silver conducted the ceremony, as seen in a photo posted on both outlet's websites that shows him in front of Champion and Robierb, who wore what appeared to be matching pinstriped black suits, but different colored ties -- a checkered tan one for Champion and a blue one for his new husband.

"I'm looking forward to spending every day of the rest of my life with a guy who just makes me a better person to be around him," Champion, 51, told People magazine.

Elliot later posted on Twitter a photo of Champion and his mother, saying: "Mama Champion, and her blushing-groom son. Mazel Tov, @SamChampion.... #offthemarket."

The ceremony lasted 10 minutes and that Roberts recited a poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, the reports said. Roberts is seen in another group photo wearing a long sleeve, sequined red dress and a rainbow-colored bracelet.

She is also bald after undergoing chemotherapy to treat myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a rare blood disorder. Roberts had gone through such treatments before, when she battled breast cancer five years ago.

Champion and Robierb announced their engagement on October 5. Champion told The New York Times that they planned on getting married on New Year's Eve in Miami. His partner said they would exchange vows in New York and "then have a party in Miami."

The two had met in 2009 at a New Year's Eve party in the city. In June, New York passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage, becoming the sixth and the largest state to do so. Florida is not included in the group.

"It's a shame we can't officially have a legal ceremony in Florida," Champion told People. "We're not separating them, because we'd like to do it twice. New York it will be legal. Miami will be the spiritual side to celebrate with the people who have been with us and supporting us and been a part of our lives since we met. We want to celebrate with them."
