Shoppers were out in full force Saturday morning, getting an early start on one of the busiest shopping days of the year and taking advantage of last minute deals. Deals at the Macy's in Cerritos included steep discounts on items like perfume and shoes.
However, experts say sales have been down since Black Friday. Retailers did well on Black Friday, but since then through Dec. 10, sales have been down 5 percent compared to last year.
But the numbers are expected to turn around, with sales projected to go through the roof as we're in the home stretch for the Christmas shopping season.
Chris Darnold from Cerritos brought her family out early to the mall to do some last-minute shopping for loved ones.
Procrastinators will get some help from stores - retailers, including certain Macy's and Toys R Us locations, are staying open extra hours to accommodate last-minute deal hunters.
