San Bernardino strip mall catches fire; cause unknown

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

Firefighters were called to the 1600 block of North D Street near North Arrowhead Avenue just after midnight. Firefighters deemed it a second-alarm fire because the blaze was so intense.

Flames could be seen shooting through the roof. It took over an hour for firefighters to bring the blaze under control and nearly two hours to extinguish it.

There was no word on a cause. Firefighters say the owner of the building moved out last week.
