Light rain was expected to reach the Los Angeles Basin by late Sunday and will become steadier and heavier into the late evening, the NWS said. The storm system was expected to be fairly fast-moving and the rainfall should end by Monday afternoon.
The storm was expected to dump about 1/4 to 1 inch of rain across Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Snow levels may add up to about 3 to 5 inches in elevations between 5,500 and 6,000 feet.
On Monday, temps will reach highs in the mid 60s in metro L.A. and O.C., and in the valleys and I.E. The mountains will be in the low 40s, while the high desert gets temps in the upper 50s.

It looks like Christmas may be spared from the rain. However, another system will bring a chance of rain and mountain snow to the area late Tuesday night through Wednesday night, the NWS said, adding that yet another storm system may bring rain to Southern California on Saturday.
