Matthew McConaughey welcomed his third child, a son, over the holiday week - and now, the actor is sharing his excitement.
The actor, 43, welcomed his third child with wife Camila Alves on December 28. One day later, McConaughey took to his official Facebook page to share the details on his son's arrival.
"Camila Alves gave birth to our third child yesterday morning," McConaughey wrote on his official Facebook page on December 29.
"Our son, Livingston Alves McConaughey was born at 7:43am on 12.28.12," he continued in the post. "He greeted the world at 9lbs. and 21 inches. Bless up and thank you for your well wishes. Happy New year, and just keep livin, Camila and Matthew McConaughey."
Alves reportedly gave birth to the child in Austin, Texas on Friday, December 28, according to People magazine.
The couple is already parents to 4-year-old son Levi and 2-year-old daughter Vida. McConaughey announced his wife's pregnancy on July 4 via Twitter.
The 43-year-old actor married Alves, 29, on June 9 in a private ceremony in Austin, Texas. It is the first marriage for both.
McConaughey and Alves, a Brazilian model, met in 2007. McConaughey proposed to Alves on Christmas Day in 2011.
McConaughey, a Texas-born actor, is known for roles in films like "Dazed and Confused," "A Time to Kill," " How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days," and "The Lincoln Lawyer."
He recently appeared in the movie "Magic Mike" in which he played Dallas, the owner of a male strip club. McConaughey's "Magic Mike" co-star Channing Tatum recently announced that he and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum are expecting their first child.
