Police have arrested three people in Murrieta for stealing hundreds of dollars worth of baby formula from a grocery store.

Authorities say two women and one man were caught trying to conceal cans of stolen Enfamil formula in a cooler at an Albertsons located in the 28000 block of Scott Road Friday.

Once employees noticed, the suspects ran out of the store and fled the scene in a black Acura. The trio was shortly arrested after employees at the Albertsons grocery store reported the robbery to police.

Casey Leon Banks, 20, Daquvin Latree Winslett, 22, both of San Bernardino, and Charlotte Genesis Chatman, 21, of Highland have since been identified as the same people behind another theft on Dec. 18 in which $450 worth of formula were taken.

Authorities found 23 unopened cans of Enfamil in a suspect's vehicle.

It's not clear what the suspects planned to do with the formula. Officials said baby formula is sometimes used to cut drugs such as heroin and cocaine.

The burglaries are still under investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the baby formula theft was asked to call the Murrieta Police Department at (951) 696-3615.
