Food Network star Anne Burrell has revealed she is engaged.
Burrell, the 43-year-old spiky-haired host of the cable network's show "Chef Wanted With Anne Burrell" and star of shows such as "The Best Thing I Ever Made," "The Next Iron Chef" and "Iron Chef America," made the announcement on her Twitter page on December 31.
"Happy new year everyone!" she Tweeted. "Happy and healthy! And I'm engaged!!!!!!!!"
Burrell is set to marry girlfriend Koren Grieveson, a fellow chef, according to a Food Network Gossip article. Burrell reTweeted a congratulatory message posted by the website, adding: "Thank you!!!!"
When asked by a fan if congratulations are in order, Grieveson Tweeted: "Yes! Thank you!!"
Food Network star and new "Next Iron Chef" winner Alex Guarnaschelli congratulated Burrell on her engagement, Tweeting: "@chefanneburrell yeeehaha."
Grieveson, a native of South Africa, recently moved from Chicago to New York, where Burrell lives, according to the New York Post. On December 30, a day before Burrell announced the engagement, a fan asked Grieveson on Twitter if she was in "The Apple."
"I am and loving it!" the chef replied.
In June 2012, New York passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage, becoming the sixth and the largest state to do so.
Burrell recently filmed season 2 of "Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell." New episodes of the Food Network show will begin to air on January 31 at 10 p.m. ET.
