Jennie Garth showcases a slim figure on the January / February 2013 cover of Health magazine, which reports that she has lost 30 pounds since her split from husband and "Twilight" actor Peter Facinelli last year.

The 40-year-old "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "What I Like About You" alum, who sports a purple camisole and tight blue jeans in the picture, shared with the outlet several of her weight loss secrets, which includes daily weigh-ins and avoiding fad diets.

"I weigh myself every morning. If I don't, before you know it, I'll be up 10 pounds. It creeps," she told Health. "This morning, it was up 2 pounds. That's OK. But if it's up 6 pounds? I need to make adjustments."

"My biggest regret is putting my body through fad diets: Atkins, cleanses, the hCG diet," Garth added. "I lost like 18 pounds, but it came right back. The worst was fasting with colonics for three or four days. It was the most horrifying experience ever!"

The Atkins plan calls for meals with a low number of carbohydrates and the hCG programincludes injections of human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone found in the urine of pregnant women.

Garth told the outlet that she exercises regularly and even wears her workout clothes while taking her and Facinelli's three daughters to school and goes hiking with their dog twice a week.

Garth also talked about her 30-pound weight loss with People magazine last fall, saying: [I] decided to "focus on taking better care of myself."

Garth, who has usually appeared slim in public, made headlines in the summer of 2012 after appearing slimmer than usual in photographs. Us Weekly reported that the actress lost 20 pounds and went down two dress sizes in three months.

Garth and Pacinelli revealed in March 2012 that they had broken up after 11 years of marriage. She told Health that the split was a wake-up call, adding: "Now I feel stronger and more confident in my body."

In late 2012, it was reported that she has also begun to date again but has not confirmed any romances.

"I would rather lick the bottom of my shoe than go on a date," Garth said on "The Jeff Probst Show" in November. "The minute I think I'm ready to start dating, then I realize, 'Oh no you're not.' I just don't know how to date."

Garth played Kelly Taylor on the hit series "Beverly Hills, 90210" from 1990 to 2000 (pictured left). She later reprised the role in the spin-off series "90210" for two seasons. She also appeared opposite Amanda Bynes in the series "What I Like About You" and competed on season 5 of "Dancing With The Stars" in 2007. In 2012, she appeared in the Lifetime Television film "The Eleventh Victim" and also had her

Garth reunited with "Beverly Hills, 90210" alums Jason Priestley and Luke Perry, who played her love interests on the show, in an Old Navy commercial that aired last year as well. Garth and Perry are set to team up again for a new show that is currently under development, according to Health magazine.
