"30 Rock" has just added another guest star for the show's series finale later this month but this one is not just another celebrity cameo.
The Washington Post reports that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will appear on the comedy show's final episode on Thursday, January 31. The episode is a special one-hour long episode and was shot in mid-December.
It's not clear if Pelosi will be playing herself as the network only confirmed to the newspaper that she will appear in the finale. Pelosi is no stranger to television as she has made appearances on late-night talk shows like "The Tonight Show," "The Daily Show" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" as well as the Sunday political news programs. Pelosi has also been impersonated on "Saturday Night Live" by Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig.
"I would do almost anything Tina Fey asks me to do," Pelosi told The Washington Post in a statement. "I'm flattered that they asked me to make a cameo in the series finale. I had a lot of fun."
Pelosi is not the first politician to appear on the comedy series as the newspaper notes that former Vice President Al Gore and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have appeared on the show as themselves.
"30 Rock" began in 2006 and is loosely based on Fey's experiences on the NBC sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live." The show is in its seventh and final season. The finale airs on January 31 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
