Laurence Fishburne is seeking a permanent restraining order against a man who demands that the actor and his family vacate their home.

According to court documents obtained by OTRC.com, Fishburne filed the restraining order request on January 3. In the filing, Fishburne claims a man named Anthony Francis threatened his family on January 1 at 4:30 p.m.

"Anthony Francis rang the front intercom of my house and told my wife that he was the owner of our house and that we were there illegally," Fishburne said in a statement in the filing. "We called the Hollywood Police Department, who determined that the intruder was Anthony Francis."

Fishburne, who is married to actress Gina Torres, goes on to say that the police told him, "Francis was released from parole on December 25, 2012, on charges of Cyber Stalking and Criminal Threats."

"We have lived and owned our home for ten years," the 51-year-old actor added. "The home is in the name of the Apocalypse Trust, of which my wife and I are the sole trustors."

Francis, 52, then left a letter in the actor's mailbox later that week in which he once again stated that he was the owner of the house and insisted that Fishburne and his family vacate the home "ASAP."

The statement also said that two weeks ago, Hollywood Police told Fishburne that they had gotten a similar call from Francis claiming he is the owner of the house. A hearing is set for January 23. Until then, Fishburne has been granted a temporary restraining order against Francis, who must stay 100 yards from Fishburne, Torres and their 5-year-old daughter, Delilah.

Fishburne is likely best known for his role as Morpheus in "The Matrix" franchise. He also appeared on two seasons of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and left the series in 2011. Fishburne has an upcoming role in the Superman reboot "Man of Steel" as Perry White, editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet.

Fishburne also has a role on the upcoming series "Hannibal," based on the novels by Thomas Harris. The series will feature the character of Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who was famously played by Anthony Hopkins in "The Silence of the Lambs" and "Red Dragon."

The show is set to air on NBC but does not have a premiere date set.
