Oak View Youth Soccer League referee charged with molesting 3 boys

ANAHEIM, Calif.

According to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, 30-year-old Jorge Serafin invited a 15-year-old boy he knew on Facebook to meet him in the parking lot of his apartment complex sometime in November 2012. Serafin allegedly engaged the boy in sexual acts there.

On Jan. 10, Serafin allegedly invited a 14-year-old neighbor to use the computer in his apartment. The boy said Serafin touched him sexually. Later in the day and again in his apartment, Serafin massaged a 10-year-old neighbor's bare back with sexual intent, the D.A. said.

Serafin was arrested last Friday. He was charged with three felony counts of forcible oral copulation on a minor 14 years of age and older, one felony count of lewd act on a child and one felony count of lewd act on a child under 14 with a sentencing enhancement allegation for sex crimes against more than one victim.

Serafin is a soccer referee for the Oak View Youth Soccer League in Huntington Beach, officials said. However, investigators said none of the victims are members of the youth soccer league. It was unknown how long Serafin had been involved with the league. According to an Oak View community website, the league has more than 700 youth members.

If convicted, Serafin faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison and must register as a sex offender. He was being held on $1 million bail and expected back in court on Feb. 1.

Investigators said they believe there may be additional victims, possibly in the Huntington Beach and Anaheim areas. Anyone with information was asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7000.
