OTRC: January Jones: 'My hair is falling out in clumps'

January Jones is currently battling a problem many women, especially female celebrities, know too well -- hair loss, caused by styling.

The 35-year-old actress revealed her ailment in an interview with the UK magazine Grazia Daily at the recently Sundance Film Festival, where she has been promoting her latest project, the movie "Sweetwater." During filming, Jones traded him her blonde locks for mid-length, wavy strawberry blond hair.

"I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps," she told Grazia Daily. "I've been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again. I'm going to have to shave it off and wear a wig."

"'I like it all colors," she added. " It makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde. My son recognises me in photos when I am blonde, he says 'Mama.'"

Jones is best known for her role as homemaker Betty, ex-wife of main character Don Draper, in "Mad Men" and sports short, blonde hair in the AMC series. She has periodically dyed her hair dark brown, including in 2010 (pictured, above) and this past November.

"I didn't get treated differently when I was red-headed, but when I went dark for a few months, I was suddenly invisible," Jones told Grazia Daily. "Not just as a celebrity, but to my friends and family. I was like, "Come on you guys, it's me!"'

In "Sweetwater," which is set in the late 1800s in the Old West, Jones plays Sarah, a former prostitute who strives to protect her and her husband's land from a powerful fanatical religious leader, played by Jason Isaacs, who is interested in the property. Ed Harris plays a renegade sheriff who gets into the middle of it all.

"Sweetwater" is set for release later this year.
