OTRC: Burt Reynolds, 76, released from hospital after battling flu

Burt Reynolds, 76, has been released from a Florida hospital after undergoing treatment for flu symptoms, OTRC.com has learned.

The actor, who lives in the state, had spent time in the intensive care unit of the medical center, whose name was not disclosed, and had also battled a fever. His rep said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com on Tuesday, January 29, that Reynolds was released from the hospital.

Reynolds is known for roles in "Smokey and the Bandit," "Deliverance," "Gunsmoke," "The Cannonball Run" and "Boogie Nights," which earned him an Oscar nomination in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category.

The actor has also portrayed characters on animated shows such as "Archer" and "American Dad!" and appeared in the 2011 TV movie "Reel Love" with LeAnn Rimes. He has also had guest appearances on the shows "Burn Notice" and "My Name Is Earl."
