Justin Timberlake is going full steam ahead with his music comeback -- he is set to sing at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy, which votes on the winners, made the announcement on Wednesday, January 30, a day before Timberlake's 32nd birthday. This will mark Timberlake's first performance at the annual ceremony in four years and will take place about a month before the release of his third studio album, which is his first major record in more than six years.
Earlier this month, Timberlake had given fans a taste of what to expect with the release of a new single, "Suit & Tie," which is a collaboration with Jay-Z. It is the first single from Timberlake's upcoming studio album, "The 20/20 Experience," which is due for release on March 19.
Timberlake, a six-time Grammy winner, performed at the Grammys in 2009 (pictured above) and in 2004. He has focused in his acting career during the past few years and last released an album in 2006 -- "FutureSex/LoveSounds."
The 2013 Grammy Awards, which air on CBS from Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10, will also feature performances from nominees Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert, The Black Keys, FUN., the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Jack White, and a duet between Elton John and current nominee Ed Sheeran, who will sing live together for the first time.
L.L. Cool J is hosting the show for the second time. Check out a full list of 2013 Grammy nominees.
