Jennifer Hudson is set to join the chorus from Sandy Hook Elementary School on Super Bowl Sunday.
"I'm blessed & honored to be singing 'America The Beautiful' with Sandy Hook elementary school chorus at the Super Bowl Sunday," the performer Tweeted on January 31.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy announced that the performer would join the Sandy Hook chorus, which is set to feature 26 children from the school in Newtown, Connecticut, for a pre-show performance on February 3, according to the Associated Press.
The Sandy Hook Elementary School faced tragedy when 20 first-graders and six adults were killed in a December 14 shooting rampage.
The performance is scheduled as a part of CBS's pre-game show that will be broadcast live before the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, according to the wire service.
Beyonce, who recently opened up about her lip-syncing controversy, is gearing up to perform in the game's highly-anticipated halftime show.
The Grammy award-winning singer, known for No. 1 hits as "Single Ladies" and "Crazy in Love," recently announced at a New Orleans press conference that she will "absolutely" be singing live at the big game, adding: "This is what I was born to do."
Alicia Keys is also set to take the stage at the prestigious event, and will perform the national anthem before the big game commences.
The NFL Championship game is set to take place on Sunday, February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, marking the first time the city will host the annual event since Hurricane Katrina.
