Frank Ocean says he will not be pressing charges against Chris Brown after the two singers got into a fight outside of a recording studio in Los Angeles last month.

Ocean, a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter who released his first studio album "Channel Orange" last year, wrote about the incident on his Tumblr blog that was linked to from his verified Twitter account on Saturday, February 2. He also said that he forgives Brown.

"As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. But as a man I am not a killer. I'm an artist and a modern person," Ocean, whose real name is Christopher Breaux, wrote. "I'll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace."

Brown and Ocean were involved in a fist fight outside a recording studio in West Hollywood on January 27. Witnesses claimed that Brown was the aggressor and that punches were thrown. The circumstances surrounding the fight were unclear, but witnesses told deputies that the singers were fighting over a parking space. Brown had left the scene when sheriff's deputies arrived.

Ocean Tweeted about the incident after it occurred and claimed he injured his finger and it would affect his performance at the Grammy Awards on February 10.

"Cut my finger now I can't play w two hands at the grammys," he Tweeted.

Ocean, 25, is up for six Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Check out the full list of nominations here.
