Chris Brown was cited for speeding in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday, February 1.
The Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed to KABC-Television, OTRC.com's parent company, that Brown was pulled over at 2:45 p.m. and was cited for going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. Brown was reportedly cooperative with officers and was let go after the police cited him.
On Saturday, singer Frank Ocean wrote on his blog that he was not going to press charges against Brown for the fight the two singers got into outside a recording studio in West Hollywood on January 27. Witnesses claimed that Brown was the aggressor and that punches were thrown.
The circumstances surrounding the fight were unclear, but witnesses told deputies that the singers were fighting over a parking space. Brown had left the scene when sheriff's deputies arrived.
"I decided it was more important for me to be happy," she told the magazine about the relationship in the issue. "I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."
Brown assaulted Rihanna after a pre-Grammys party in 2009. Brown pleaded guilty to a felony charge and he was sentenced to five years of probation, six months of community service and was ordered by the courts to receive domestic violence courses for a year.
"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world," Rihanna told Rolling Stone about the relationship. "You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore."
