Highland man arrested for threatening to kill neighbors w/ rifle

HIGHLAND, Calif.

Police responded to the 7800 block of Lankershim Avenue around 8:12 p.m. Friday.

When they arrived, responding officers found three victims who said a white male adult pointed an AK-47 at them and threatened to kill them. Fearing for their lives, the victims contacted police after they fled from the scene.

Donald Scott Neeley of Highland was seen leaving the area of the incident on foot carrying a rifle. Witnesses saw Neeley climbing over the rear fence of a residence on Lankershim Avenue, which deputies soon learned belonged to the suspect's sister.

Officers made entry and found Neeley lying on a bed in a bedroom with a loaded AK-47 assault rifle. The weapon had a 30 round magazine inserted in it.

A search warrant was served at the residence and additional evidence was recovered. Neeley was arrested for terrorist threats, assault with a firearm and possession of an assault rifle. He was booked into the Central Detention Center.
