Fall Out Boy announced on their official website on Monday, February 4, that they had reunited for the first time in three years. However, that was not the only surprise they band had in store for fans.

Fall Out Boy, who went on hiatus in November of 2009, also announced they had a new single and video ready for their big reunion announcement, news of a new album on the way and a list of upcoming tour dates. The video for the single and the tour dates can be viewed below.

"When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place," the band said in a statement on their website. "This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us."

The statement concluded with, "The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save Rock and Roll..."

"My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)" is the first single off their new album called "Save Rock and Roll," which is out May 7. It will be the band's fifth studio album and it marks the band's 10th anniversary of their debut LP "Take This to Your Grave," which was released on May 6, 2003.

During the hiatus, lead singer Patrick Stump released his debut solo album "Soul Punk" in 2011. In September 2012, Stump wed his longtime girlfriend Elisa Yao in Chicago.

The band's tour, dubbed the "Save Rock and Roll Tour," will kick off in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 14 and will include stops in Nashville, Dallas, Philadelphia, Miami and Las Vegas. Tickets go on sale on February 8 and 9.

Fall Out Boy also has a special series of preview shows set for later this week in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.
