Bomb threat at youth church in Hemet prompts evacuations

HEMET, Calif.

Police received a call about a possible bomb threat at the Youth For Christ Church, located at 158 South Buena Vista Street, around 6:12 p.m. Saturday. Responding officers were advised that the suspect, identified as Jacob Fetchko, was still at the location.

Fetchko had reportedly threatened to kill children and blow up the church which was filled with numerous teenagers attending a hip hop concert.

The church was evacuated as authorities searched the building for explosives.

No devices were found and the church was reopened.

Fetchko was located and arrested for a false bomb threat to police and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
