Murrieta teen admits to threatening to kill teacher on Twitter

MURRIETA, Calif.

Police say the 17-year-old boy attends Vista Murrieta High School.

By the time the threat was reported to police on Monday, the student had gone home for the day. The school's resource officer felt the threat was credible. When officers tracked down the teen at his residence later that day, he admitted to making the threat and was subsequently arrested.

A search of his home did not turn up any weapons. Also, officers determined that he did not have access to weapons.

The teen was booked into Southwest Juvenile Hall for making criminal threats.

The case has since been turned over to the Riverside District Attorney's Office.
