OTRC: Mindy McCready in rehab: Singer committed to mental health facility, report says

Mindy McCready welcomed her second child, a son named Zayne on April 9, though it was previously announced that the country singer was expecting twins. It was announced in November that McCready was expecting twins. Her rep told E! News, 'At the time of the initial announcement surrounding Mindy's pregnancy, in consideration of her size, Mindy was certain she was carrying twins - a misinterpreted sonogram seemed to support her feelings and excitement.' Country singer Mindy McCready, who has been making headlines following the death of her "life partner" David Wilson, is reportedly set to undergo treatment.

The performer, 37, was recently ordered by a judge to be committed to a treatment facility for a mental health and alcohol abuse evaluation, according to E! News.

"Family members sought to have Mindy committed to a mental health facility and there was an emergency hearing today," E! News quotes an unnamed source as saying. "They just got out of court a little while ago and the judge committed her for up to 21 days."

The entertainment outlet quotes another source as saying that during the hearing, McCready admitted to "indulging in too much alcohol because she was still mourning David's passing."

McCready's two children were removed from her care by family services that same day, shortly before the hearing, according to the website.

Wilson, a 34-year-old singer-songwriter and the father of one of McCready's children, was initially rushed to the hospital earlier in January after reportedly suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound that did not immediately kill him.

McCready was facing suspicion over her boyfriend's death amid rumors he was having an affair, according to "Today" in January. The singer, however, denied that her "life partner" was cheating, saying: "David was not having an affair with another woman. That is absolutely, totally untrue."

McCready, who talked to NBC's Dateline in January, was then asked directly if she shot the father of her child, to which she adamantly replied, "Oh, my God, no. He was my life. We were each others' life."

The investigation regarding Wilson's death remains open while authorities await autopsy results.

On January 14, it was announced that McCready was grieving over the death of her "life partner," Wilson.

"He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father," the singer said in a statement obtained by People.

The pair welcomed their first child together, a son named Zayne, on April 9, 2012.

"Zayne is truly a blessing and a joy," McCready and Wilson said in a statement to E! News on April 12, 2012. "It was a long and trying pregnancy - we're so happy he's here. There are no words to convey how happy we are."

McCready also has another son, Zander. She made headlines in December 2011 after refusing to return him back to his Florida home following a visit. McCready's mother, Gayle Inge, was awarded guardianship of Zander in 2007 following the singer's trouble with the law.

The singer has dealt with domestic abuse, drug and DUI arrests as well as a suicide attempt since the mid-1990s, after she released her double platinum debut album "Ten Thousand Angels" in 1996.

McCready appeared on the third season of Dr. Drew's reality drama series "Celebrity Rehab" in 2010.
