Britney Spears' reps are in talks about a possible concert residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, a spokesperson for parent company Caesars Entertainment told OTRC.com.
For more than a month, it has been rumored that the 31-year-old pop star and former "X-Factor" judge was trying to get a headline show in the city, following in the footsteps of fellow top artists such as Celine Dion -- who has had two, Elton John, Bette Midler Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, Shania Twain.
"We can now confirm the company is actively engaged in discussions with Britney Spears' representatives regarding a potential headlining residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino," a Caesars Entertainment spokesperson told OTRC.com on Friday, February 8. "No further statement will be made at this time."
Spears has not commented.
Such concert residencies have the potential to become big money-makers. Dion's first show series at Caesar's Palace, which lasted between 2003 and 2007, grossed more than $400 million. Spears was in November ranked by Forbes as the seventh highest-paid music artist in the world, with estimated annual earnings of $58 million (see who else made the cut).
