Selena Gomez recently gave a group of fans a ride from the airport -- and they may have the paparazzi to thank.
A video of the incident was posted on TMZ, which dubbed it a "dangerous stunt." It took place on Thursday, February 7, more than a year after Gomez faced a threat by a male stalker and obtained a restraining order against him.
The singer and actress is seen being escorted by security from a Los Angeles International Airport terminal to the vehicle and entering the back passenger seat while paparazzi snap away from the sidewalk. The window is rolled down slightly and three girls then approach the SUV, saying "please" repeatedly. She opens the door, spurring one to say, "Oh my God!"
Gomez's spokesperson confirmed to OTRC.com that the singer allowed the fans to enter the vehicle because they wanted to get her autograph and possibly a few photos and the scene was too chaotic outside. The rep added that they rode in the SUV for a short time, getting out two terminals down.
"Selena Gomez is the most amazing girl ever!" the three fans, who are from Brazil, wrote in a statement posted on the website OceanUp.com. "There were about 30 paparazzi around her so she couldn't stop to talk to any fan, when she got in the car and we told her that we came from brazil, she took me and two friends to a car ride with her."
"THANKS FOR TODAY, YOU REALLY ARE AMAZING," one of them said on Twitter, alongside a photo inside the SUV with Gomez.
