Chris Brown was involved in a solo, non-injury car crash in Beverly Hills on Saturday, February 9.
The Beverly Hills Police Department said in a statement that the accident occurred at 12:03 p.m. and that Brown was driving his black Porsche when he hit a wall.
The 23-year-old singer told police that he was being chased by paparazzi at the time of the accident and their presence caused him to lose control of the car. The car was towed at the scene.
A spokesperson for Brown reportedly told Extra that the singer was on his way to a Symphonic Love Foundation event when he was cut off by two vehicles. The occupants of the vehicle exited the car with cameras and approached Brown's car.
Brown reportedly began to back down an alley to get out the situation but was cut off by two more cars before he lost control.
The singer is currently facing allegations that he failed to complete his court-mandated community labor and violated his probation, issued over his 2009 assault of girlfriend and fellow R&B singer Rihanna.
At a Wednesday hearing on the matter a judge scheduled another hearing for April 5 and ordered that a probation officer interview Brown and submit a new report within 48 hours. "At this point I'm not revoking probation," the judge said.
Brown is up for an award at the 2013 Grammy Awards. The ceremony takes place on Sunday, February 10. Check out the full list of nominees here.
