Taylor Swift has for the past few years been linked to several popular male celebrities, but she wants to make one thing clear about her love life -- she doesn't chase boys.
The 23-year-old singer made her comments in an interview with ELLE magazine, which features her on the cover of its March 2013 issue. Swift wears a printed nude and yellow Louis Vuitton dress, a white gold necklace with onyx and diamonds from Van Cleef & Arpels and a diamond Harry Winston bracelet (see photo, above).
"I'm sure if I looked up the latest Google Alerts rumor it would say I'm chasing somebody who doesn't like me as much as I like him -- people love that angle on me," she told ELLE. "They're like "Oh Taylor, coming on too strong again, chasing boys. I never chase boys. They don't like it!"
Swift dated Conor Kennedy last summer and went out with "Twilight" actor Taylor Lautner in 2009. She has also been linked to the likes of John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Cory Monteith and One Direction singer Harry Styles. Swift has usually remained coy when asked about her reported romances but has released many songs about breakups.
"To me it's just writing songs the way I always have," she told ELLE. "It's me sitting on my bed feeling pain I didn't understand, writing a song, and understanding it better. If people want to dissect the lyrics, that's their right, but it's all coming from the exact same place as where I started. It's just something I do to feel better."
Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres poked fun at her about it on her talk show in October, running a slideshow of photos of men the singer has been linked to while playing her then-new song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." She asked Swift to ring a bell when the person the track is about was displayed. The singer refused, saying the game "makes me feel so bad about myself."
Swift recently attended the 2013 Grammy Awards. She arrived solo, just as she has usually done at major press events in the past. The singer wore an ivory J. Mendel Spring 2013 Grecian gown with silver straps and silver Jimmy Choo "Lance" sandals.
