Lady Gaga has been ordered by her doctor to postpone numerous tour dates after suffering "chronic pain" following a "show injury."UPDATE on February 13: Lady Gaga has canceled ALL tour dates. Check out details.
The 26-year-old performer announced the postponement news to her 34 million fans on Twitter and also on her official website, offering her apologies.
"I am completely devastated and heartsick," the statement on Gaga's official website reads. "I've been hiding this injury and pain from my staff for a month, praying it would heal, but after last night's performance I could not walk."
"To the fans in Chicago, Detroit and Hamilton, I hope you can forgive me as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself right now," the statement continues. "I would do anything for you. I will hopefully heal as soon as possible and be at 500% again, which is what you deserve."
Gaga is postponing four performances: two in Chicago on February 13 and 14, one in Detroit on February 16 and one in Hamilton, Ontario that was scheduled for February 17.
The "Edge of Glory" singer incorporates physical elements and props in her performances. During her current Born This Way Ball tour, she has included motorcycles, horses and castles in her shows.
Gaga has been on the road for two years on her current world tour, and her website showcases tour dates through March 20.
The additional Born This Way Ball performances are expected to proceed as scheduled. Fans holding tickets to the affected performances are advised to retain their tickets pending confirmation of rescheduled dates, however, refunds for the postponed performances if required will be available at point of purchase, according to her website.
"Due to a case of synovitis, (severe inflammation of joints) Gaga's doctor has ordered her to postpone show in Chicago, Detroit + Hamilton," she Tweeted on February 12.
The "Born This Way" singer's latest performance, which she cites as the performance that pushed her physical limits, was on February 11 in Montreal, Canada.
"It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this," she Tweeted. "I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry."
