Someone summon Franck for babysitting services immediately -- Steve Martin has become a father.
The 67-year-old "Three Amigos!" and "Father of the Bride" actor and his wife Anne Stringfield, 41, recently welcomed their first child, his spokesperson told OTRC.com on Wednesday, February 13, without elaborating.
The news comes following a report by the New York Post's Page Six, which stated that baby was born in December. Martin and Stringfield, a former writer for The New Yorker, wed on July 28, 2007 at the actor's home in Los Angeles after dating for about three years.
Martin delivered his vows wearing the Inspector Clouseau mustache he grew for his role in the 2006 remake of the comedy film "The Pink Panther," the Associated Press had reported at the time.
Lorne Michaels, creator of NBC's "Saturday Night Live," served as Martin's best man. The actor was often a host on the sketch comedy series. The two also co-wrote the 1986 comedy film "Three Amigos!."
The couple's wedding was also attended by the likes of Diane Keaton, who played Martin's wife in the "Father of the Bride" films, Eugene Levy, who also starred in the movies, Tom Hanks and actress and wife Rita Wilson and Carl Reiner, who directed Martin in films such as "The Jerk" in 1979 and the 1984 comedy "All of Me."
This is Stringfield's first marriage. Steve was previously married to British actress Victoria Tennant, who starred with him in the latter movie as well as in the 1991 film "L.A. Story." He was her second husband. They divorced in 1994 after about eight years of marriage.
