If Shaq ever causes you any trouble, you can always call on ... Will Ferrell?
Wearing his "Anchorman" mustache, a red career jacket and a name tag bearing the name of female genitalia, the actor posed as a security guard during the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Pheonix Suns at Staples Center on Tuesday, February 12. At one point he walked over to Shaquille O'Neal, who was sitting courtside, and escorted him away.
O'Neal has not commented but appeared to play along during the stunt. A video of his encounter with Ferrell was posted on the official NBA YouTube page (watch below). The NBA superstar is a former member of both teams who won three NBA championships as a Laker, from 2000 to 2002. He retired in 2011 after playing for the Boston Celtics.
Ferrell, a former "SNL" star who is known for his character-based comedy and is also a longtime Lakers fan, is currently promoting "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues."
He reprises his role as narcissistic and sexist TV news anchor Ron Burgundy in the comedy film, which hits theaters on December 20 and also stars returning actors Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and Steve Carell as well as newcomer and fellow former "SNL" cast member Kristen Wiig, whose participation was confirmed last week.
