Phillip Phillips' mother is in trouble with the law.
She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Albany Georgia on Thursday, February 14. Phillips, who is from the town of Leesburg and won the 11th season of "American Idol" in 2012, has not commented and was not involved in the incident.
The singer's mother was arrested following a stop conducted by the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit who reportedly saw her weaving on the roadway, according to The Albany Herald.
"The driver was all over the road, so my officer pulled her over," officer Bill Berry told the outlet. "She was taken to the hospital for a blood test and has been charged with DUI-Less Safe."
The officer also told a local FOX television station that Cheryl was stopped after officers noticed her striking a curb.
"They didn't smell or detect any alcohol on her person, but she couldn't complete the field sobriety test so our guys charged her with less safe since she was under the influence of something," Berry continued.
The results of her blood test could take weeks to come back before they'll know what substance was in her blood stream, according to the officer.
