Oscar winners Jennifer Hudson, Catherine Zeta-Jones and the cast of the film "Les Miserables" will perform at the Oscars telecast on February 24 as part of a celebration honoring movie musicals over the past decade, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced on Wednesday, February 20.
"Les Miserables" cast members Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, and Helena Bonham Carter will perform with their fellow cast mates and Oscar nominees Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway. Co-star and previous Oscar winner Russell Crowe will also perform with the cast. The film is nominated for Best Picture at the ceremony and is up for a total of eight awards.
"We are pleased to have been able to amass so much talent to create the celebration of musicals of the last decade that we envisioned," Zadan and Meron said in a statement. "We are thrilled that so many talented actors have agreed to bring our vision to life."
Earlier this month, the producers announced their planned tribute to movie musicals that is set to showcase "Chicago," "Dreamgirls" and "Les Miserables."
Zeta-Jones was previously announced as a presenter along with her former "Chicago" co-stars Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere and Queen Latifah. "Chicago" won a total of six Oscars in 2002. Catherine Zeta-Jones won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her part in the film and the movie won Best Picture.
"Dreamgirls" won two Oscars during the 2006. Hudson won the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for playing Effie White.
This year's Oscar presenters include Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, Selma Hayek Pinault, Melissa McCarthy, Liam Neeson and John Travolta,current Oscar nominees Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, previous Best Actress winners Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, Mark Wahlberg and Ted, 'The Avengers' cast members Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo; returning 2011 Oscar winners Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer, Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep.
