"I feel like my whole life is just shattered," Wood said. "I can't see my baby sister ever again, and it kills me."
Investigators say Syed shot Aoki multiple times inside his family's Ladera Ranch home before fleeing and killing two drivers during carjackings, shooting up cars on the freeway and finally taking his own life.
Wood says Aoki didn't know Syed; it was the first time she had met him.
"My baby sister was an escort. He probably wanted her for a job," she said.
She says what makes this tragedy all the more difficult is that she says Aoki was two months pregnant.
Described as a loner by authorities, investigators still don't know why Syed went on his rampage. Wood believes he was on drugs or mentally ill, or both. Either way the outcome is the same.
"All I want is my baby sister back, and if anyone could grant me that, I would be a happy camper, but no one can," Wood said.
Authorities took a computer and other items from Syed's home during a search warrant with the hopes of trying to come up with a motive for the violence.
