OTRC: Tina Fey: 'No way' will I host Oscars - a 'hard' gig

While Oscars 2013 host Seth MacFarlane has said there's "no way" he would host the ceremony again, don't look at Tina Fey -- she's not interested in taking over the gig, for now.

The "30 Rock" actress had earned rave reviews for co-hosting the 2013 Golden Globe Awards with fellow "SNL" alum and "Parks and Recreation" star Amy Poehler a month before the Oscar ceremony, which took place on February 26. During the latter show, "Star Trek" alum William Shatner, speaking via a remote feed, joked to MacFarlane on stage that the two comedy actresses should host instead.

"Why can't Tina and Amy host everything?" Shatner asked.

Fey recently told the Huffington Post that it was "an honor to be "Shatnered." When asked if she and Poehler, longtime NBC personalities, could "go host the Oscars on ABC" if they wanted to, she replied: "No, you can. But I just feel like that gig is so hard. Especially for, like, a woman -- the amount of months that would be spent trying on dresses alone ... no way.

Whoopi Goldberg and Ellen DeGeneres are the only two women have hosted the Oscars by themselves since first ceremony was held in 1929. Goldberg hosted the show four times -- in 1993, 1995, 1998 and 2001, while DeGeneres hosted it once, in 2006.

Several women have co-hosted the Oscars over the years. The list includes the likes of Goldie Hawn, Carol Burnett and most recently, recent Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, who co-hosted the 2011 ceremony with James Franco. They earned lackluster reviews for their performance.

MacFarlane's Oscar hosting performance was slammed by many critics, who have called it offensive and sexist. He said there was "no way" he would host again and compared his experience to a no-win scenario seen on "Star Trek."

Despite this, the 2013 Oscars telecast on ABC on Sunday drew more than 40.38 million viewers and a 13.0 rating among people between ages 18 and 49 -- up from 11.7 from 2012.
