Anastacia, known for pop hits such as "I'm Outta Love" and "Left Outside Alone," has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in 10 years and has canceled her upcoming tour.
"Anastacia has sadly been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time after having successfully survived her 2003 battle with the disease," the message said. "Consequently, she has been forced to cancel all performances, tours and any travel from now until further notice."
The blonde, bespectacled singer, whose full name is Anastacia Lyn Newkirk, was scheduled to begin performing concerts in Europe on April 6, in London, to promote her 2012 album "It's A Man's World."
"I feel so awful to be letting down all my amazing fans who were looking forward to 'It's A Man's World Tour," she said in a statement. "It just breaks my heart to disappoint them."
The message added that Anastacia will continue working on her sixth studio album, which was originally planned to be released later this year, and hopes to schedule a new tour.
"Now more than ever, she is determined to live by her motto 'Don't ever let cancer get the 'Best of You!,'" the post said. "A born survivor, Anastacia has one goal and that is to make a full recovery with the support of her family, friends and everyone around her. Please respect her need for privacy during such a trying time."
Anastacia was first diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2003. She later established the Anastacia Fund, through The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The singer rose to fame outside her native United States in the late 1990s and her singles have reached top 10 chart positions in countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany. Her latest album, "It's A Man's World," contains covers of its from the likes of rock bands Guns N' Roses, Foo Fighters and and Bon Jovi.
