The department is donating five used vehicles to the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund. The nonprofit organization has been helping northeast fire departments affected by October's storm.
The vehicles were going to be auctioned off, but instead they will soon be sent to the East Coast.
The Santa Monica City Council approved the donation of two Ford Crown Victorias, a truck, van and an SUV.
