Four residential burglaries were reported in Fountain Valley early Sunday morning, according to police.

Fountain Valley police officers responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on the 10600 block of El Silbido Avenue at 3:30 a.m. The resident told police a suspect or suspects attempted to open a rear sliding door to the residence, then fled when the resident turned on interior lights.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located three additional residential burglaries in the area. In each of the burglaries, the suspect or suspects gained entry through unlocked doors or windows. Residents had been sleeping during the break-ins.
