Jennie Garth is opening up about her recent 30 pound weight loss.
Garth, 40, has been making headlines for her slimmer figure in recent months. The former "Beverly Hills: 90210" actress and mother of three explains how she has maintained her weight loss.
"Maintenance is definitely challenging. It's something you have to do daily," Garth said during a Lindt-sponsored charity auction in New York, benefitting Autism Speaks, according to People.
Garth partnered with the Swiss chocolatiers to launch the company's fourth GOLD BUNNY Celebrity Auction, and was joined by celebrities such as Blake Lively, Brad Paisley and Celine Dion.
"You have to remind yourself what your priorities are," she continued. "And, remind yourself about staying healthy and living a healthy life."
The actress, who has reportedly lost 30 pounds since her split from husband and "Twilight" actor Peter Facinelli last year, went on to explain how she mixes up her exercise regimen.
"Every day, I try to schedule something in, whether it's hiking with my dog or jogging or going to the gym," the actress continued. "Those are the things I'm focused on right now."
The actress also attributes some of her success to a gluten-free diet, which consists of avoiding grains such as wheat, barley, rye and triticale. Some popular gluten-free diet staples include nuts, quinoa, potatoes, rice and chocolate.
The "What I Like About You" alum, who appeared on the cover in a purple camisole and tight blue jeans, shared with the outlet several of her weight loss secrets, which includes daily weigh-ins and avoiding fad diets.
"I weigh myself every morning. If I don't, before you know it, I'll be up 10 pounds. It creeps," she told Health. "This morning, it was up 2 pounds. That's OK. But if it's up 6 pounds? I need to make adjustments."
Garth, who has usually appeared slim in public, made headlines in the summer of 2012 after appearing slimmer than usual in photographs. Us Weekly reported that the actress lost 20 pounds and went down two dress sizes in three months.
Garth and Pacinelli revealed in March 2012 that they had broken up after 11 years of marriage. She told Health that the split was a wake-up call, adding: "Now I feel stronger and more confident in my body."
In late 2012, it was reported that she has also begun to date again but has not confirmed any romances.
Garth played Kelly Taylor on the hit series "Beverly Hills, 90210" from 1990 to 2000 (pictured left). She later reprised the role in the spin-off series "90210" for two seasons. She also appeared opposite Amanda Bynes in the series "What I Like About You" and competed on season 5 of "Dancing With The Stars" in 2007. In 2012, she appeared in the Lifetime Television film "The Eleventh Victim," and also had her CMT reality series, "Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country."
