Michael Buble is set to be the father ... of a baby boy!
The 37-year-old Canadian singer, who is expecting his first child with wife Luisana Lopilato, announced the gender of his upcoming baby according to a report published by People magazine, who quoted the New York Post.
"We are so excited. We have just come from the hospital, and the sonogram was pretty clear - it's a boy! We are thrilled," the singer told the New York Post on March 14.
The crooner and his Argentine wife visited the doctors after learning that the newly-elected Pope Francis I was from her native country, joking to the outlet: "She said, 'It is a sign!' But there's no way we are going to call him Frank, even if it did work well for Frank Sinatra."
On Jan. 24 it was announced that the singer and his 25-year-old wife were expecting a child, according to a video message she posted on her official YouTube channel (Watch below).
"Mike, Lu and ... mini Buble!!" the video message displays, shortly before offering fans a brief look at the couple's ultrasound photos. "We're having a baby Buble!!!"
The Grammy-award winning singer, known for his numerous hits such as "Everything" and "Haven't Met You Yet," Tweeted the link to the video on January 24, simply saying: "Big News...."
Buble married the actress in Argentina in a civil ceremony in March 2012. Lopilato wore a lavender dress, posed and embraced in front of photographers at the event. She then threw a small bouquet of violet orchids into the crowd.
The two held a bigger ceremony that same week with 300 guests at a mansion outside Buenos Aires, People magazine reported.
Buble and Lopilato got engaged in November 2009 after meeting a year earlier. She appears in the music video for his song "Haven't Met You Yet" (Picture above).
"I wrote it because I had met this girl and there was nothing solid about anything of it," Buble told the Australian newspaper The Age in 2009, when asked about the track.
"She didn't speak English," he said. "She had just been in a relationship that was very public for her and so had I. There was every reason to not try to get into this predicament of a relationship, yet I did and it was weird. The song came from that - it was inspired by meeting her."
Buble was previously linked to British actress Emily Blunt. The two met in 2005 and dated until 2008.
