Children's photos auctioned for Hollygrove fundraiser

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES

Several children displayed the results of a five-week photography class taught by experts. Events like this one help keep young dreams alive.

"When I have my issues, Hollygrove's right around the corner and I can go talk to anybody and they help me resolves my problems instead of going to the streets," said a boy named Oscar.

Fernanda, a girl also helped by Hollygrove, is happy to return the favor. Her photography is also on display and up for auction to raise money for Hollygrove.

Plenty of stars attended the event in Hollywood.

"To be able to give these kids this opportunity outside of their public school is really fantastic and necessary," said actress Busy Phillips, who was at the event.

"The teachers are so dedicated to this and they are doing such an amazing job to mold their brains and to put positive energy into these kids because they don't have much positivity in their lives," added actor and chef David Burtka.

Neil Patrick Harris also attended the event.

"Dealing with underprivileged kids, especially here locally, I think is more important than ever," he said.

One of the photographs sold for $1,500. Overall, about $200,000 was raised for the nonprofit.
