While Kanye West has a "big ego," it doesn't appear that the rapper will be naming his album after a deity.
The 35-year-old rapper has drawn criticism for his religious parallels before, having appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine as Jesus Christ for the February 2006 issue. The singer can be seen posing with a crown of thorns on his head and what appears to be bloody gashes across his face (See photo).
The controversial magazine cover read, "The Passion of Kanye West," possibly mimicking the title of the 2004 Mel Gibson directed film, "The Passion of the Christ."
In 2004, the performer released one of his biggest songs to date, "Jesus Walks." The song, which won a Grammy for Best Rap Song, was well-received by many critics who cited his boldness in his open embrace of faith. The rapper performed the song at the Grammys in 2005, donning large angel wings and an all-white ensemble.
The "Stronger" rapper, who is currently expecting his first child with girlfriend Kim Kardashian, is set to release his sixth solo studio album. The project, which will be the follow up to his hugely popular "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," marks his first solo record in three years. The album title has yet to be released.
