Police hope a surveillance image will help catch a thief who preyed on a churchgoer in Ventura County.

In the photo, the man is seen pushing a shopping cart through a Target store at 4200 E. Main St. in Ventura.

Ventura officers believe he stole a woman's wallet at a local church on March 10, and then went on a shopping spree at Target stores in Ventura and Camarillo, and a Wal-Mart in Oxnard.

More than $1,900 in charges wound up on the woman's credit cards.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet and 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing about 160-170 pounds, with a slim build and brown hair.
