"Veronica Mars" is a mom!
Kristen Bell, star of the defunt cult series that is poised to be made into a movie following a Kickstarter campaign, and longtime partner Dax Shepard, an actor on the show "Parenthood," have welcomed a baby girl named Lincoln. This is the first child for the pair, who got engaged more than three years ago and call each other "husband and wife" despite never announcing a wedding.
"Lincoln Bell Shepard is here," Shepard said on Twitter on Thursday, March 28. "She has mom's beauty and dad's obsession with breasts. Hooray!!!"
"My new roomate poops her pants and doesn't pay rent...basically @daxshepard1 pre-sobriety :)," Bell added. "Welcome baby Lincoln xo."
Shepard had recently posted on his Tumblr blog an emotional post about how he flew without Bell to Detroit to visit his father, who died of cancer at age 62 in December, days after the actor returned to Los Angeles. He describes how the pregnant actress surprised them by showing up herself at the hospital.
At one point, and unbeknownst to both of us, my wife walked into the room," he wrote. "She had flown in from LA without any warning. It was a surprise. It was an amazing, incredible, perfectly timed surprise. She lifted her shirt up and he put his hand on her swollen stomach. He left it there for the better part of an hour."
"He was smiling from ear to ear, sitting contently, unable to put together a sentence, but still capable of connecting to the new family member we were creating," the actor continued. "He wasn't going to make it to the birth, but that didn't get in the way of him meeting the new baby. It was an emotional and triumphant moment. One I will never forget. If I live to be a thousand, I will still be in debt to my wife for giving him that one last thrill."
Bell currently stars in the Showtime cable series "House of Lies" and was also the narrator of the CW show "Gossip Girl."
