Jim Carrey's new anti-gun Funny or Die video, in which he spoofs the late ex-NRA president Charlton Heston, has sparked what appears to be a new meme -- on eBay.
After the clip was posted earlier this week, many people have both criticized and praised it in online forums and social media, but one person took it a step further -- they created en eBay account and posted one listing, originally titled "Jim Carrey Autographed 8X10 Photo So I Can Afford a Gun!" according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The gun references were later removed. But copycat spoof ads have since been posted.
Carrey has been Tweeting about gun control all week to his 10.2 million followers and addressed the eBay issue as well, saying that "A lot of the autographs you'll buy 4 guns online r fakes. (sic)."
"Jokes on both buyer and seller. Not to mention the karma.Your luck will be bad. ;^) (sic)," he added.
Here are 3 examples of copycat eBay spoof ads referencing Jim Carrey merchandise and guns:

Maximum bid of $12.50, with 15 bids as of Friday. 2. "Jim Carrey 'Ace Ventura Pet Detective' & 'When Nature Calls' DVD NEW Proceeds to NRA" - maximum bid of $1.99, with 12 bids as of Friday. 3.
