Chris Brown in court after Virginia DA casts doubts on service hours

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES

The R&B star appeared in court Friday wearing all white and did not say a word. The judge granted a motion to postpone his hearing until June 10.

The case goes back to Brown's 2009 assault conviction for his attack on his girlfriend Rihanna. As part of his probation, Brown was ordered to serve 180 days of community service in Virginia.

The Richmond, Va. district attorney says a review of Brown's service time shows a series of inconsistencies in the documentation. They claim Brown was actually in other locations when he reported service hours.

Mark Geragos, Brown's attorney, calls the allegations "libelous" and wants sanctions against the Richmond, Va. DA for even suggesting them.

Rihanna was not present for Brown's court appearance Friday.
