The family of a Florida teen shot and killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer has settled a claim against the homeowners association of the Florida subdivision where it happened.

The wrongful-death claim settlement amount given to Trayvon Martin's parents is being kept confidential.

Martin was fatally shot in February 2012 during a confrontation with George Zimmerman at the subdivision north of Orlando.

Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder for shooting the unarmed 17-year-old.

The neighborhood watch volunteer claims he was attacked and acted in self-defense.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
