Michael Jackson AEG trial: No cameras allowed

LOS ANGELES

Jackson's mother, Katherine, is suing concert giant AEG for $40 billion, claiming negligence in the pop star's 2009 death.

Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson's three children wanted a camera in court. They argued that they wanted the public to see the evidence for themselves. AEG attorney Marvin Putnam said cameras in the courtroom could interfere with due process and intimidate witnesses.

The first week of jury selection ended Friday. More than 50 potential jurors qualified for the next phase of the selection process.

Jury selection is scheduled to continue Monday. The trial could last up to three months.
