2 students stabbed outside San Bernardino school

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

Authorities say the attack happened outside Indian Springs High School in the 600 block of N. Del Rosa Drive at 2:26 p.m. just before school was dismissed. One of the victims was a student at Indian Springs High, and the other was a student at Curtis Middle School, which is just across the street.

Both victims were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. According to a district spokeswoman, the victims had superficial wounds and were expected to be released from the hospital Friday night.

Two suspects, ages 14 and 16, were taken into custody. Officials say the younger suspect is either a current student at Curtis Middle School or was recently expelled. Two knives were recovered at the scene.

District police say the attack may have stemmed from a confrontation that happened Thursday.

Officials say the San Bernardino City Unified School District will be letting families know about the incident through an automated telephone system.
