Hugh Jackman had a strange encounter while working out at a New York City gym when he was confronted by an alleged stalker on Saturday, April 14.
The "Les Miserables" star was working out in Manhattan when 47-year-old Kathleen Thurston rushed in and began crying and shouting that she loved him, according to 1010 WINS.
Thurston was grabbed by an employee but managed to pull out an electric razor filled with hair from her waistband and threw it at Jackman. She then fled the scene but was arrested several blocks away. Jackman was not harmed. Thurston has been charged with stalking.
Jackman told the radio station it was not his first encounter with the woman and said, "Here's a woman who obviously needs help so I just hope she gets the help she needs."
The 44-year-old actor was recently nominated for an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his work in "Les Miserables." He lost out to "Lincoln" star Daniel Day-Lewis. He won a Golden Globe for the role.
Jackman will next be seen in the action film "The Wolverine," which is set for release on July 26.
